The Lagos state government has launched a Register-to-Open Initiative for religious and social centres, social clubs, event centres, restaurants, bars, night clubs, spas, cinemas and gyms ahead of the gradual re-opening of the state economy.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on May 17 debunked claims of absolute reopening of the state’s economy.
The Governor said;
“In the coming days, we will be starting what we call Register-to-Open, which means all players in the restaurant business, event centres, entertainment, malls and cinemas will go through a form of re-registration and space management.
“There is a regulation that will be introduced to supervise this move. We will be coming to their facilities to assess their level of readiness for a future opening.
“I don’t know when that opening will happen in the weeks ahead, but we want these businesses to begin to tune themselves to the reality of COVID-19 with respect to how their workspaces need to look like.”
The Director-General of Lagos State Safety Commission Lanre Mojola on Wednesday June 3, confirmed that the commission has started the e-registration in view of the Register-To-Open initiative of the state government. Lanre said the move is targeted at gradual reopening of the economy amid the pandemic.
“Further to the directive of Mr Governor with respect to the Register to Open initiative of Lagos State Government, we hereby confirm that all Religious and Social centers(Social Clubs, Event Centres, Restaurants, Bars, Night Clubs, Spas, Cinemas and Gyms) within the State can commence the registration process
A woman took to Twitter to claim Peruzzi raped her in 2012 and she gave details of how the alleged rape happened.

She claims that she accompanied a friend named Aisha to visit Peruzzi in the blocks of flats popularly called 1004. She says that at night, Peruzzi tried to touch her in the room she was sleeping in with Aisha but she refused.
She says she changed location and went to the parlor downstairs. She claims that while she was there, Peruzzi came again after she had dozed off and allegedly tried touching her. She adds that she objected but he forcefully shifted her underwear and raped her.
She says she never reported to anyone because she was scared and because her parents didn’t know she was in Lagos.

The girls are getting more endangered. The society must do something. I am not just worried because I am a father to 19 year old student too, but I am really concerned because girls and women deserve better. They deserve respect and protection from the society. They are not objects for use in carnality.
I think it is time to start a new campaign to mould the boy child. The new generation of boys seem to be posing much danger to the advocacies for the girl child over time.
It is my earnest prayers that the killers of #Barakat and #Uwa and every unreported assaults and deaths be brought to justice.” he wrote

A Nigerian man has tendered a public apology to a Nigerian lady on Facebook, for fondling her breast without her consent many years ago.
The lady, Iphie Alfred, took to her Facebook page today to call out Justice Chimaoke Nzeabuike. She demanded an apology from him for the ”atrocity” he committed against her a few years ago.
”Justice Chimaoke Nzeabuike you have 48hrs to tender a public apology to me here on facebook for the atrocity you committed against me few years ago.
I have not been in communication with you since until today.
Your 48hrs started 2:52pm Nigerian time.” she wrote on her timeline
Justice saw the post and took to the comment section to apologize and also state his own side of the story. According to him, the incident happened over five years ago when he was serving. He claimed Ify came to visit his friend and roommate, a certain Tony and that Ify and the said Tony had issues so she decided to leave but did not have transport fare.
He claimed he offered her money but asked for intimacy in return which she agreed to. He said he regretted his action and apologized to Ify months later.
Iphie saw his comment and expressed shock at his claim. According to her, she and Tony never had issues. She claimed that it was while she was asleep at night that Justice began to fondle her boobs.
When a friend asked what really transpired, Iphie stated that she was sleeping when Justice sexually assaulted her.
Iphie maintained that Justice touched her body without her consent though he’s claiming she was awake while he touched her. She also stated that she has the right to decide who touches her body.
After all the back and forth, Justice tendered a public apology to Iphie on his Facebook page
Iphie accepted his apology as well but indicated that shortly after she accepted his apology, Justice went on to delete the post from his timeline.
The Kogi Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Abdulmumuni Danga, who allegedly brutalized and raped a former beauty queen for calling him out on Facebook was called in for questioning. However, there has been pressure from the state governor and others in the political class to pervert justice, Segun Awosanya has said.
Earlier this year, a woman identified as Elizabeth, urged the commissioner on Facebook to assist his sister and family financially.
Danga was offended by the post and he allegedly hired thugs to kidnap Elizabeth from her home with her three-year-old son.
After Elizabeth was released, she shared a video, showing the wounds allegedly inflicted on her by the commissioner. She also claimed that he raped her.
Elizabeth said at the time: “After making the post, they started attacking me on social media and he sent some guys to come and get me.
“On getting to me, they flogged me. He flogged me himself, stripped me naked and made a video of me threatening to post it when next I make any public comment about it.
“They also made me apologize that what I said about him was not true under duress. I had to do so because they were all over me.
“The commissioner also smashed my phone and destroyed it totally, saying that maybe I might have been recording what was happening or I have been recording before getting there.”
Nigerians were angered after Elizabeth shared her story and people used their platforms to call for justice.
Activist Segun Awosanya, popularly known as Segalink, took to Twitter to reveal that Hon. Danga was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 2, but was later released after he posted bail.
Segun said “damning evidence” gathered against Hon. Danga led to him being taken into custody.
A video of the commissioner in custody shows him refusing to write a statement. He eventually did when he realized Sega was publicizing it.
“He is refusing to make statement and he is proving he is above the law. I have called the CP in charge of Intelligence to alert him the world is watching,” Segalink, who was reporting in real-time, wrote on Twitter.
Sega said Danga’s victim has enough evidence to show that she has been victimized by the commissioner.
He wrote: “Elizabeth has gone through Hell. There’s been many threats to her life on the record & the @PoliceNG investigation have all the evidence.
“They made a call to Elizabeth telling her she can be killed by the whim of she refuses to let it go. They dictated several Facebook posts to her to make in order to be free from their crosshairs. The police have this on the record. That man must not be let off the hook.”
Sega added that, “It took over two months to get Hon Danga to answer for his crimes at the FHQ due to obstruction from the Kogi State Governor.”
He also alleged that other powerful people are behind Hon. Danga
He wrote: “This is unlike any other case but a Rape allegation that is supposed to be a crime against the state. Unfortunately the chief security officer of the state is the one obstructing justice. It’s a game of evidence & we came with a trailer load.”
He later added that Hon. Danga has been “released on bail pending the need to invite him again as the investigation proceeds.”
He added: “Till now we are unsure the condition of his bail and why he was released despite the damning evidence against him. We also acknowledge the pressure from Kogi Governor and police’s subservience to political push due to the lack of operational independence. We are watching!”
Below is a video of Hon. Danga when he was taken into custody and after his release.
