Actor Yul Edochie who joined the social media conversation ignited by a video of a father beating his son for failing in school in spite of spending $21,000 on him, recalled how his father and Nollywood veteran actor, Pete Edochie dealt with him after telling him he wanted to drop out of school.
The actor revealed that his father ‘gave him a beating that reset his brain’ after he told him to open an electrical shop for him, instead of going to school. Yul further disclosed that this happened when he was in JSS 2.
In JS2, I told my father I didn’t want to go to school anymore, he should open electrical shop for me. He said ok. He Invited me to his room, locked the door & pulled out his belt. He gave me a beating that reset my brain to factory setting. Look at me today. Thank you Dad!
Toke Makinwa has joined other Nigerians to react to the lockdown extension in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja.
The media personality suggested that the federal government credits the accounts of Citizens of the country with at least N10, 000 to cushion the economic effect of the extension.

Actor Mike Godson wrote an open letter to the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof, Yemi Osinbajo to inform him that there’s hunger in the land and he has been affected by it.
The Nollywood actor said he is down to his last post of soup and there’s no hope for another as he can’t work at the moment due to the Coronavirus lockdown in Nigeria.
He added that he can’t go out to look for food, for fear of being arrested by the task force.
He wrote: “Your exellency the vice president federal republic of NIGERIA.
“Dear sir, My name is “Mike Godson” I’m a Nigerian Actor with the Nigerian film industry.
“Sir, We have been instructed by the federal and state government to strictly avoid social gatherings and stay in our various houses, due to the spread of the virus. I must commend the federal and state government levels for the aggressive measures put in place to ensure the country’s safety. But sir, the hunger in the land has finally reached my house.
“As I write this letter, I have just finished eating my last pot of soup and there’s no hope for another one as my source of income has been put on hold until further notice.
“Your exellency sir, i have no more money to feed. If you were in Lagos, I would have walked straight to your house and ask for food because I stay in the same estate with you.
“I know I will be arrested by those mobile police officers in thier hundreds, assigned to your residence after I must have shouted your name 3 times. But sir, as long as I see you and ask for food to eat, I don’t mind being purnished for hunger at this point.
“Finally sir, I just want to know if the relief packages sent out in envelopes by the federal government will reach this side of Lagos, because your exellency sir, The Hunger on the way will be more than corona virus O! Please help O! Thank you Sir. @profosinbajo Yours sincerely!”
He added in another post: “For those that reached out to offer me a new pot of soup, thanks alot. But my post was for the vice president and not for you. I was asking for my own share of the 15billion sent out to Nigerians to help keep them at home.”

The media personality took to her Instagram Stories to write about the increasing rate of crime Nigerians are suffering in addition to the Coronavirus lockdown and the hunger resulting from it.
She wrote: “There is a pandemic out there killing people, there’s hunger threatening to kill people, there’s crime threatening the peace of the people. What type of year is this??? God pls have mercy.”
The Lagos State Police command has granted bail to singer Naira Marley and former Lagos state governorship candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, and his wife. The trio were detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba on Monday April 6 after they turned themselves in for questionning.
Recall that they were all invited for questionning for attending the birthday party of JJC Skillz on Sunday April 5th, thereby violating the social distancing order of the Lagos state government.

Actress Funke Akindele-Bello and her hubby, Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz, have pleaded guilty to the one count charge of defiling the orders of the Lagos state government on public gatherings and social distancing.
The couple were arraigned on Monday morning April 6, before a Chief Magistrate court in Ogba by the Lagos State Government and the state police command for the alleged violation of the lockdown order to check the spread of coronavirus. The charge was filed by the Attorney General of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo.
Funke an JJC were arrested for holding a house party in their Amen estate home on Saturday April 4 despite the restriction in movement and social distancing order issued by the state government as part of measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
Akindele and her husband both pleaded guilty after the charge were read to them. The magistrate is being awaited to deliver her verdict.

Singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has surrendered himself to the police at State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State.
The state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, who confirmed this, said Naira Marley arrived the SCID office on Monday afternoon April 6, and has been interrogated. He will also be charged to court for violating the restriction orders.
The police say the command has launched a manhunt for the remaining persons who attended the party organized by Funke Akindele and her hubby over the weekend
A shouting match ensued at the Chief Magistrates Court in Ogba, Lagos state today as court officials allegedly refused lawyers representing actress Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz, access into the court room.
Out of the four lawyers that are to represent the actress and her hubby, only two were finally allowed into the court room after much argument.
